Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) announced today that Alex Iskenderian was promoted to chief operating officer and senior vice president for Vail Resorts Development Company (VRDC), a subsidiary of Vail Resorts, effective immediately.

Iskenderian brings more than a decade of leadership and experience with VRDC in both Eagle and Summit Counties to this new overall leadership role, most recently as Vice President of Development where he oversaw all real estate development activities for VRDC for the Breckenridge and Keystone Resorts. Iskenderian joined Vail Resorts Development Company in 1997 and previously served as Vice President and General Counsel and as Vice President of Development. He will now oversee all day-to-day VRDC initiatives and projects and will continue to report to Jeff Jones, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of Vail Resorts.

“Alex has been an integral force in our recent Vail Resorts Development Company successes,” said Jones, pointing to the June 1 opening of One Ski Hill Place, the first RockResort property in Breckenridge, as well as the 2008 debut of Crystal Peak Lodge, a ski-in, ski-out property at the base of Peak 7, among others. “He also has made significant contributions to our previous successes in both Summit and Eagle Counties. Alex has strong community connections in both the Vail Valley and in Summit County. Combined with his leadership skills and real estate acumen he is uniquely suited to guide our real estate strategies and position us for future growth and success.”

Iskenderian has been involved in most of VRDC's major initiatives over the past 13 years, including The Arrabelle at Vail Square, A RockResort, The Vail Front Door base area development, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead villages and Red Sky Ranch and Golf Club in Eagle County. In Breckenridge, he had oversight of many of the initiatives that have transformed the resort including Mountain Thunder Lodge and Townhomes and the development of The Peak 7 and 8 base areas.

“This is certainly a time of great opportunity for Vail Resorts Development Company,” Iskenderian said. “This summer we successfully opened One Ski Hill Place and are just weeks away from the debut of The Ritz-Carlton® Residences, Vail. In Heavenly we recently broke ground for the new mid-mountain lodge and restaurant and the planning work for Ever Vail continues. We think it's vitally important for our company, in partnership with our communities, to pursue strategies that will enhance the base areas of our world class resorts now and well into the future.”

Iskenderian serves on the Summit Foundation board and enjoys mountain biking, skiing, running, golfing and the mountain lifestyle of the Colorado Rockies.
