XTERRA Mountain Championship – Beaver Creek welcomes new and exciting additions to the slate of endurance events July 16-17. Be a part of the “Live More” spirit and challenge yourself on Sunday to compete in either the 10k or ½ marathon event. Both races begin at 9:00 a.m. at the base of the Centennial Chairlift (#6) in Beaver Creek with registration opening at 7:30 a.m. in Beaver Creek Village at the Winter Ticket Office, next to the Coyote Cafe.

The Half Marathon follows a scenic and challenging “out and back” course around the trails of Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch. A full 13.1 off-road miles, the course features a mix of single-track and double track terrain, gaining approximately 2,400 feet of elevation throughout the distance.

Athletes who choose to compete in the 10K Trail Run will retrace Saturday's full XTERRA run course, gaining approximately 1,300 feet of elevation. Compare your time on Sunday to some of the best athletes in off-road racing running the same course in the Championship Triathlon Saturday.

The XTERRA trail runs are a part of the XTERRA Mountain Regional Series and runners can earn points in their respective age group divisions toward attaining a national berth. More information on the XTERRA trail running series is available at www.xterraplanet.com.

The XTERRA event welcomes all ability levels and looks forward to the inaugural trail run events at Beaver Creek. For more information about these races and to register online, visit www.xterrabeavercreek.com.
