The Vail Recreation District's summer ice hockey camps for youth and adults are filling quickly with less than 30 spots remaining for the Bob Johnson Hockey School in July.

Spaces also remain for the Weekend Warriors Adult Hockey Academy and Northern Edge Hockey Goal Scoring Camp in June and the Pro Ambitions Hockey Battle Camp in August. All camps will take place at Dobson Ice Arena with details as follows:

Bob Johnson Hockey School

The Bob Johnson Hockey School will take place July 14-20 and costs are $475 for open registration, $450 for Eagle County residents, $430 for Vail residents or $175 for the goalie session. Participants must be seven years or older with one year of prior ice hockey experience. All age groups will receive three hours of on-ice instruction and one hour of off-ice instruction during each day. The camp is led by Mark Johnson, head coach of the 2010 Women's Olympic Ice Hockey team silver medalists and also a player on the 1980 Olympic Team. The camp will conclude with a 90-minute skate and graduation session. Registration is available through July 14 by going to www.vailrec.com/icearena.cfm or by calling 970-479-2271.

Weekend Warriors Adult Hockey Camp

The Weekend Warriors Adult Hockey Academy will take place June 20-23 and will offer a weekend of fun, learning and camaraderie. The camp is designed exclusively for adult recreational players. Camp includes 12 hours of on-ice instruction from high-level staff, off-ice coaching, "Break the Ice" Social on Thursday evening, a camp banquet on Saturday evening and custom jersey, socks and water bottle. Costs are $750 per player with a $200 deposit due 45 days prior to the camp. Details and registration are available by going to www.weekendwarriorshockey.com or calling 814-673-2000.

Pro Ambitions Hockey Battle Camp

Camp is for all skill levels and participants are encouraged to have one year of skating experience. Costs is $540 with registration and details available at www.proambitions.com.

Northern Edge Hockey Goal Scoring Camp

Considered a premier hockey school in the industry, the Northern Edge Hockey camp will take place June 17-21 for ages six to 17. The camp has a low instructor-to-student ratio with attention to the smallest details to ensure players not only learn the most, but also have a great time. Camps are for all skill levels and will challenge the player through proven development plans and encourage players to work hard and have fun. Cost is $450 per participant. To register or for more information, go to www.northern-edge.com or call 636-532-9987.
