Newly re-elected Vail Town Council members Andy Daly, Margaret Rogers, Ludwig Kurz and Greg Moffet will be sworn-in at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 during an organization meeting that will coincide with the regular work session of the Town Council.

The four members will join Kerry Donovan, Kevin Foley and Susie Tjossem on the council. The agenda also includes the election of a mayor and mayor pro tem. Both posts run for two years.

Immediately following the swearing-in ceremony a reception will be held to welcome the newly elected members. Appreciation also will be extended to the remaining candidates for their community service and former council members. Light refreshments will be provided and community members are encouraged to attend. The reception will be held in the Town Council Chambers.

The Nov. 8 election returned incumbents Daly and Rogers to the council, while Kurz and Moffet are replacing seats held by Dick Cleveland and Kim Newbury.

Also on Tuesday, the Town Council will meet for its regular evening meeting at 6 p.m. The agenda includes the appointment of Buck Allen as the Town of Vail municipal judge, an update on next steps for the voter-approved Conference Center fund projects and first reading of an ordinance to certify the Town of Vail mil levy.

There were 934 votes cast in the Nov. 8 election, including 711 ballots received in the early voting and mail-in ballot process, plus another 223 ballots that were generated at the polls. Overall voter turnout was 43 percent of 2,178 active voters.
