High-end Bachelor Gulch hit with weekend wave of home invasions

The Eagle County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rash of home invasions that occurred in the high-end Bachelor Gulch neighborhood west of Beaver Creek.

Three homes were burglarized over the weekend. All of the home invasions occurred at night while the homes were occupied. Easy to carry items such as laptops, cell phones, and other electronics were targeted.

“Locking and preventing the opening of doors and windows is the most significant deterrent to home invasion,” Sheriff Joe Hoy said. “Most home invasions result from thieves gaining entry through unlocked doors or unlocked windows.”

Anyone with any information about the crimes should call the Eagle County Sheriff's Office at (970) 328-8500 or Eagle County Crime Stoppers at (970) 328-7007 or (800) 962-TIPS. Or submit tips online at www.tipsubmit.com, or text a tip from acell phone by texting STOPCRIME plus a message to CRIMES (274637).

If a tip leads to the arrest and indictment of any suspect involved, tipsters can earn up to a $1,000 reward from the Crime Stoppers.
