The lineup of live entertainment and events at Vail Snow Daze, the annual festival to celebrate the start of the ski and snowboard season in Vail, will ramp up on Thursday, Dec. 9 with the Dummy Demolition Derby under the lights on Golden Peak at 5 p.m., Rolling Stone's Club Vail Street Party with Mix Master Mike at 6 p.m. and après and after dark parties in the Town of Vail.

The Dummy Demolition Derby, hands down the wackiest event of the Vail Snow Daze schedule, will get going at the base of Golden Peak at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The venue will open for dummy viewing at 3:30 p.m. Dummy Demolition Derby is a sport of sorts, where teams of one to three people construct snow-riding dummies attached to a pair of skis or a snowboard and launch the handmade contraptions off a giant on-snow jump and over a massive flamethrower.

The first place team will take home a purse of $3,000, with $1,500 and $500 going to the second and third place teams, respectively. All guests and spectators are invited to enjoy a bowl of Two Elk Restaurant's signature Buffalo Chili or Pork Green Chili during the event compliments of Vail Mountain while supplies last.

Immediately following the Dummy Demolition Derby, Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys will take the stage at Rolling Stone Magazine's Club Vail Street Party on Meadow Drive in Vail Village. The venue will open at 6 p.m. and the music will get going around 7 p.m.

Mix Master Mike is best known for his work with hip-hop group The Beastie Boys, acting as their resident DJ and contributing to their albums Hello Nasty and To The 5 Boroughs. Known for heavy-hitting bass and intricate scratch routines, Mix Master Mike is certain to keep the crowd rocking well into the night in the outdoor dance club atmosphere of Rolling Stone's Club Vail Street Party.

Thursday's schedule of events will also include après and after dark parties in the Town of Vail. The Captain Morgan will be out in Vail from 3-6 p.m., making stops at Los Amigos, the Tap Room and the Red Lion.

Los Amigos will also host the Bud Light Après Party Thursday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. where guests can expect to find drink specials and giveaways. After Rolling Stone's Club Vail Street Party winds down, The George will host the Bud Light After Dark Party with more drink specials and exciting giveaways.
